John Frusciante was born on the 5th of March in 1970 in New York.

John's father John Sr, lawyer and a judge was also a very skilful pianist and has motivated John a lot in his musical career, his mother Gail is a very talented singer and sings the backing vocals for Under the Bridge. His nickname was Greenie.
John has two brothers, Erik and Michael and two sisters, Anna and Lily.

At nine he had romantic dreams about bisexuality, "The point is, I´m weird, but I never felt weird."

He spent his youth playing guitar and listening to music, he adapted the punk rock style very early and listened to bands like the Clash and Joy Division.

It was for the first time when John saw Hillel Slovak's appearance with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, live at Variety Arts Center , downtown L.A. at the age of 15. From that moment, John was the RHCP's no.1 fan, specially Hillel Slovak. And that moment changed his life.
John left home at the age of 16 and found an appartment.

When the band signed John during Christmas 1988 he was just about to be signed by theThelonius Monster but the The RHCP beat them to it. John has always been a guitar virtuous and he is extremely skilful with his instrument. He played up to 15 hours a day along with Zappa and Hendrix records. "John was an absolute Hillel clone" , remembers Alain Johannes, "Not only did he play like him, he stood like him and moved like him as well". Two girls once asked him for an autograph and he wrote: "I want to destroy your hymens".

John's biggest influences are (besides Hillel Slovak offcourse): Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, The Clash, Mick Jones, Pat Smear, Steve Jones, Matthew Ashman from Bow Wow Wow, Joy Division etc. Just like Flea, John is a big fan of Jazz and has got a lot of inspiration from John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman.

On the 7th of May 92 during the Blood Sugar Sex Magic tour John announced that he would quit band. After almost a year of constant touring John have had enough. After John quit the band he started to work with different projects, for instance he played a lot with the Thelonius monster, Bob Forrest, Trulio Disgracias and the three Amoebas, which consisted of himself, Flea and Stephen Perkins.

He also recorded a black and white movie called "Stuff" with his friend Johnny Depp in his house in Hollywood.
During a few years after the departure of the band John had fallen into the serious abuse of drugs.
In 1994 John released his first solo album,Niandra LaDaes and Usually Just a T-shirt. It didn't get very good reviews, no one understood what he meant with his . It didn't get very good reviews, no one understood what he meant with his music. In August 28th,1997 he released the second solo album Smiles From the Streets You Hold. These two albums contained a great amount of soul-searching for John.

John also spent a lot of time painting and doing yoga to help him get free from the drugs and get at peace with himself. What makes John into such a special guitarist is that he always follows his own ideas and goals.His brilliant guitar-solos adds a lot of character to his and the Chili Peppers songs. The songs from his solo albums are very emotional; they express very many deep feelings.

John is the only one in the band with a good education; he graduated from the Musicians Institute of Technology. When John had quit the band Arik Marshall and Jesse Tobias temporarily replaced him but the band settled eventually for former Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro.
On the 6th of April 1998 Dave Navarro quit the band and twenty-three days later it was announced that John had re-joined the band after six years. Once again he would add his guitar-magic to the Chili Peppers and Californication was the result.

When John re-joined in early 1998 it started out with Flea and him playing together in Flea's garage. And he started seeing the whole band again and he and Anthony got close together and rediscovered the love for each other. John loves what he does right now, rocking out all over the world with his best friends.

Now in early of the New Century, New Millennium, and also with new vision, John releases His Latest Album.
